Broadcast Date – February 3, 2021
Our chats will be just that very conversational, not entirely sensible and with any luck totally enjoyable…
And it sure was a pleasure to connect with today’s great guest – a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who hails from the gentle island – in fact just he just picked up two Music PEI nominations – one for New Artist of the Year and the other for Contemporary Roots/Country Recording of the Year for his debut project PLACE TO THE NAME. And just last Friday he released the first single from his sophomore CD SECOND WIND set for release March 5th, 2021. So we’ll talk about all of that and so much more including his performing around 200 shows a year, how his family formed his great love of music and how he found his way into filmmaking as well. Plus we’ll get to First Things First, play a fun round of INsights IN 10 and spin some of his stellar tunes along the way. It’s going to be a great show. And be sure to stick around after our chat with Shane as I’m going to place a call to the YEAR-ROUND VEGETABLE GARDNER herself – Nova Scotia’s best-selling award-winning author and radio host – my dear pal Niki Jabbour who just had her brand new book GROWING UNDER COVER featured in the New York Times – so I’m going to call for some congrats and catch up on the latest in her world. Oh, it’s a lot to squeeze into the hour so we best get to it – here’s my telephone conversation with the one and only Shane Pendergast. (stream/download show at the bottom of the post)
We played some of Shane’s great tracks during the show – all of them are available on iTunes – to get copies for yourself just click on the title – “It Slips Away,” “Place to the Name,” “The Harbour Hullaballoo” and “White Lies”
